Teaching restaurant

L’Atelier de la Crêpe’s teaching restaurant is an integral part of the coursework and activities at the school. There, participants and students learn cooking and serving skills, prepare galettes and crêpes using local ingredients, and manage a bustling lunchtime restaurant under the supervision of their chef-instructors. Our programs and courses let participants act out their roles as crêpe cooks and wait staff in a busy creperie under the watchful guidance of their instructors… with customers for their audience. The school’s restaurant is a teaching space where participants learn how to handle real-life restaurant situations in a learning environment that allows them to progress.

The fixed-price menu at L’Atelier de la Crêpe’s teaching restaurant includes a savory buckwheat galette, a dessert crêpe, and a beverage (glass of organic cider or apple juice) for 11.80 euros (tax included). Our chef-instructors have come up with different menus that evolve with the participants’ skill levels. Seasonal crêpes and galettes are also offered à la carte.

The operation of an educational/teaching restaurant is regulated the service note 95 249 of the Official Bulletin n°43 of 23 November 1995: “Any price differences between the educational restaurant and professional establishments as well as any variations in quality are due to the purely educational nature of an educational/teaching restaurant. Prices do not include the taxes and fees to which food service businesses are subject and therefore do not correspond to the prices found in privately-owned restaurants.”
